The Ants Go Marching...

My 4th started early and with rain... I had to get my oldest to the parade route by 9am to march with his baseball team in his first parade ever! Two small issues. None of the other kids from his team showed up. He was a lone Cub in a sea of Angel's and A's. He didn't want to stay with the other coaches and march with strangers. So we waited. Waited for his buddies to show. In the rain(issue#2)! I will march if you come with me, Dad. Fuckitty. I'm in my sandals and not ready to walk the walk. Not ready to showcase my fatness for the whole town. But to quote a fav bedtime book, "A boy mouse must do what a boy mouse must do"!

I marched with him and loved every minute. It was a first for both of us. We had a blast! I even saw Jerry from BL's old ass... What he and his wife were doing on a float in my small town I do not know. Jerry looks ripped and not at all in danger of stroking out again any time soon.

Next up was the BBQ, again, in the rain. Sucked so good. I ate pretty well, maybe C+ or so. Had lots of water and didn't do dessert but may have had a bit too much of a 7 layer dip thingie.

From there to the firework show. Complete with glow necklaces and small town chatter. Lots of boom, boom, wow! As my kids agreed that this was the best Fourth of July, EVAH!

Up next, Indiana, and a birthday party for my evil MIL! Shoot me now!

Sounds precious!

Amazingly, my "I'm afraid of everything" daughter loved our town's fireworks display. She was adorable in her excitment. The boys have the attention span of gnats, it seems. Such is life!

Congrats on the C+!

My evil mil is back east as well. She isn't really evil though, just ???? I don't know???? Can I just say, she is my husband's first wife. I will leave it at that. IF we lived nearbye, she would be in our business 24/7. That said she rocks as a grandma. Congrats on the parade and the fun with your son. Keep up the great work.
